BOARD MINUTES

TOWN OF COLUMBIA

REGULAR TOWN BOARD MEETING

    APRIL 9, 2009      

 

The Town of Columbia Town Board held a regular monthly meeting April 9, 2009, at the town building.

   

MEMBERS PRESENT: Supervisor Weiss, Councilmen Buddle, Keeler, Lynch, and Teletnick.

 

MEMBERS ABSENT: None

 

OTHERS PRESENT: Pat Woytowich, Clerk; 2 residents of the town

 

Supervisor Weiss called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M.

Pledge of Allegiance

A motion was made by Councilman Keeler, seconded by Councilman Teletnick, to accept the minutes of 3/12/09.

  VOTE:  All members voted aye.

 

A motion was made by Councilman Teletnick, seconded by Councilman Keeler, to accept the Supervisor and Town Clerk monthly reports.

  VOTE:  All members voted aye.

 

BILLS:  The Board audited the monthly bills.  A motion was made by Councilman Keeler, seconded by Councilman Lynch, to accept the following bills:

General Fund, #52 - #70 for $ 9,556.30

Trust & Agency, #4 for $ 382.26

Highway, Item 1, #1 - #2 for $ 811.36

Highway, Item 3, #28- #38 for $ 1,840.12

Highway, Item 4, #25 - #32 for $ 13,956.00

  VOTE: All members voted aye.

 

DEPARTMENT REPORTS:

-ZONING: Quarterly report from Codes Officer was distributed

-PLANNING BOARD: February meeting was cancelled.  March meeting minutes were distributed.

 

CORRESPONDENCE: The Clerk received information from the United States Department of Agriculture regarding home repair loans and grants and loans to purchase or build homes.  Anyone interested the clerk has contact number.

 

OLD BUSINESS:

•                Dog restraint local law was discussed.

· Councilman Keeler spoke with Wheelock Sanitation regarding trash day.  All is set for May 2nd.

NEW BUSINESS: Brief discussion on a salt shed.

 

INPUT:  The Board received input from those attending.

 

A motion was made by Councilman Buddle, seconded by Councilman Teletnick, to enter executive session to discuss a legal issue with no action to be taken. 

  VOTE: All members voted aye.

 

The board entered executive session at 8:18 p.m.

The board returned to open session at 8:45 p.m. 

Next meeting will be May 14th.

A motion was made by Councilman Keeler, seconded by Councilman Teletnick, to adjourn.  The meeting was adjourned at 8:45 p.m.
